Ikorodu Utd beat Enyimba in five goal thriller

NEVER-say-die, Ikorodu United gave their relegation fight another big boost as they defeated seven times Nigeria Premier League (NPL) champions, Enyimba in a five goals thriller in a rescheduled game, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.The MKO Abiola Stadium which is the new fortress as against the Onikan Stadium, seems to be paying off for the Lagos based team, as the Aba Millionaires became the second top team to fall in Abeokuta after Kano Pillars.
Ikorodu United took the lead in the 28 minutes through Fatai Abdullahi, but Enyimba drew level four minutes later, when Mfon Udoh scored from the penalty spot after goalkeeper Adamu Azeez fouled goal-bound Musa Najare.
Ikorodu then regained the lead in the 53rd minute, when Oluwole Johnson fired past Enyimba shot stopper Theophilus Afelokhai.
However, Enyimba responded when ex-Warri Wolves ace Musa Najare scored to make it 2-2 on 61 minutes.
As the stopwatch ticked away,  Michael Okoyoh a second half sub then made sure the Aba Elephants pay for the decision not to keep him when he poured salt to the Aba Elephants injury scoring what proved to be the wining goal Iin the 71st minute.
Despite the victory Ikorodu Utd remain bottom of the table with 32 points from 33 matches while Enyimba remain in seventh place on 49 points after 33 games, as their hopes of playing in the continent fade away.
