Okon hail Angels after Fed Cup success

RIVERS Angels, Edwin Okon has attributed his team's victory to hard work.
“ It’s a good win for Rivers Angels because we worked hard although we wanted to score more than one goal but it didn’t work out but we thank God for qualifying,” he said
“Our ability to soak up the pressure from their forwards was massive and I must commend the girls for that,” Okon added.
Meanwhile, head coach of Nasarawa Amazons, Christopher Danjuma was, however, furious after the match.
Danjuma felt his side was not given adequate time to make up for the delays posed by Rivers Angels.
A 32nd-minute goal from central defender, Osinachi Ohale was all Rivers Angels needed to progress into the final of this year’s Women Federation Cup.
Wednesday's pulsating encounter in Enugu saw Rivers Angels and Nasarawa Amazons give a good account of themselves in the semi-final game.
The six-time champions took the lead via a free-kick following a foul committed on Amarachi Ojinma. Ohale stepped up to shoot from 22 yards to give the 'Pride of Rivers State' the lead at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
The Lafia side kept on pushing for an equalizer but the strong backline of the Edwin Okon led side ensured their efforts were fruitless.
Imo Anam and Biawho Tessy came close to getting a leveller for the Amazons but Charity John had no problem dealing with their efforts.
Rivers Angels will face the winner between Bayelsa Queens and Delta Queens in the finals.
