NEWLY promoted team into the Nigeria Premier League, Gombe United have been given a week off by its management, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
In a statement issued to the media by its spokes person,Halilu Mohammed Teli that the time off was to enable the coaching crew and players celebrate with their respective families after their heroic outing at the just concluded Nigeria National League season.
Recall the Coach Hassan Abubakar (Tactical One) led team galvanized their season when they shocked Kwara United on a matchday 12 game at the Ilorin Stadium and at the end leapfrogged Dreams International of Makurdi to the promotion ticket.
The management under the leadership of Alh.Salisu Ahmad Adviser appreciated the support of Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo and all stakeholders throughout the season whose frantic efforts catapulted the Savannah Scorpions back to the elite division after two seasons in the second tier division.
The diehard, unshakable and undiluted supporters of the club have also been applauded for their relentless support during trial moments, and hope the spirit would be extended to the upcoming season.
The players are expected back Wednesday next week to commence preparations for the NNL Super 4 Tournament that would take place at the end of this month.
