3SC: Ogunbote to sign new deal

By Rasaq Oboirien
SHOOTING Stars of Ibadan have asked Nigeria Premier League (NPL) big guns to stay clear of Gbenga Ogunbote insisting that the coach is going no where, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
Ogunbote who was earlier linked to a move to Enyimba and Akwa United, our source says would sign an improved deal offered him by the Oluyole Warriors management.
"It's transfer period so the reports of Ogunbote leaving us are not true as speculated by the media.
"Keeping him has always been our priority. Our management, him and his representatives have been having meetings and the grey areas in his contract I think have been adjusted.
"I can assure our fans that the former Gateway and Sunshine Stars coach will be in Shooting Stars dug-out when the new season kicks off in December as proposed by the League Management Company (LMC)."
However, the club has concluded plans to commence preparations for the new season as its players would resume camping next week.
Our source informed further that the club will be active in the transfer window.
"In the management and Ogunbote contract discussions, the team will surely be beefed up.
"And as regards plans for its late defender, Izu Joseph the club is still awaiting his burial plans from his family."
The late defender was reportedly shot dead by members of the Army Joint Task Force (JTF) last month in the trouble militant region of the Niger-Delta.
