By Our Reporter
SUPER Eagles, Leon Balogun is sharp and ready for tomorrow's (Saturday) Bundesliga game against Freiburg at the OPEL ARENA, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
The Zerofivers defender who showed class in Nigeria's World Cup home win against Algeria, has been sweating out with his fellow teammates after returning to his German side from the international break.
Balogun, is rearing to put his Eagles form into Saturday's game and also to improve on the club's last game defeat to Leipzig said on social media, twitter after his last practice session on Friday.
"After the successful international break we're returning to our day-to-day business tomorrow. Time now to focus on #Bundesliga 👊🏽."
Meanwhile, Coach Martin Schmidt will want his men to approach the match like they usually do playing attacking football and being the dominant side.
“We want to face up to our opponents,” said the head coach in the press conference ahead of the game.
“I am expecting an intense match on Saturday. Freiburg are similar to us in the way they play, in terms of the yards both teams cover and the passion and the emotion both clubs show.
"It will be a fantastic game for the fans and a big challenge for us. I’m sure it will be really interesting and lively match, like most of our home games this season. We want to react well and be aggressive going forward, but at the same time we know we have to be compact if we want to achieve our goal, which is obviously picking up the home game.”
A single point separates the teams in the table, meaning Mainz can overtake the newly-promoted side with a victory and earn their 17th point from eleven league games.
