ALHAJI Kwairanga has tipped Gombe United to shake off from the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super4 flop to a team to beat when the new elite season kicks-off in January, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
The legend who spent more than 20 seasons with the Savannah Scorpions also urged fans not to rate the Coach Garba Manu squad with the four-team tourney.
Gombe United lost all two of its matches via spot kicks to ABS FC of Ilorin and Remo Stars of Shagamu respectively.
Asked on the Scorpions performance during the NNL Super 4: "The team to me didn't play badly during the tournamnent, they just didn't score goals. And it's football, but we are going to prepare harder before the commencement of the new season.
"The team won't be push-over as it will win games as the expertise of Garba and his coaching assistants will come in handy.
"We'll also give it our best shot when we are in the reach of wining either the NPL title or the Federation Cup, as we plan to get a continental ticket at the end of the season.
"I also want to urge our fans to be patience with the team as the players the club has recruited will bring the desired results once they gel."
The legend who is yet to have a testimonial in his honour by the club, " I wish it happens but when it finally comes I'll always cherish the moment," Kwairanga stated.
Gombe United kick-off it's campaign against Kastina United in an away game.
