LOBI Stars of Makurdi will leave Ijebu-Ode for Ota for close camping before the commencement of the 2016/17 season, reports NaijaSportsXtra.com.
The Godwin Koko Uwa team who were crowned Gold Cup Pre-Season Tourney champions after they beat Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries 4-3 on penalties had camped in Ijebu-Ode for close to a month.
A top official of the club in a chat said:"The team would by Monday next week relocate to Ota to intensify its preparations for the upcoming season which is expected to kick-off on December 18.
"I can't be specific on the number of days we'll be in Ota, but it will be a close camping as the coaches will use the period to shape up the team."
Meanwhile, our source also informed that close to seven players have been dropped by the club as close to 35 players will head to Ota.
"You can see that some of our senior players are back into the team.
"About seven players have been decamped by the technical crew as their performance during our Gold Cup tour didn't meet our standards.
"So only 35 players should be in Ota for serious close camp training session."
Recall the Food Basket side missed out of the CAF Confederation Cup spot after they finished 5th on the log last season with 55 points.
