‪THE Nigeria Premier League matchday one fixture between ABUBAKAR Bukola Saraki(ABS FC) and Akwa United could be a classic at the Ilorin Township Stadium on January 15, as both teams won big in the tune-up games they played on Thursday evening respectively in Lokoja and Uyo, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.‬
‪Newly promoted ABS FC pummeled FMC (Federal Medical Centre) of Lokoja 5-0 with Adeshine Gata scoring a brace.‬
‪It was all square in the first half and FMC, a non-league side took the game to the Henry Makinwa lead NPL team.‬
‪The Spanish La Liga trained coach half time pep talk with his players paid off as Gata opened the floodgates of goals.‬
‪The younger brother to Enymba Gata scored the first goal shooting ‬from the edge of the box and beyond reach of FMC's goalkeeper.
His goal was no thanks to a wonderful assist from Chris Stone Iyke.
He doubled the lead as he scored his second of the evening after he beat FMC offside trap rounding the keeper.
The trio of Kehinde Ayinde, Austin Ekpi and Adeoti Muieez then added their names on the goal scorers sheet too.
ABS FC will host Shekarau Babes in a second tune-up game tomorrow by 5pm at the Confluence City Stadium, Lokoja.
On the other hand, Akwa United defeated a non-league side, Spartan FC 3-1 in a pre-season friendly game played at the training pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International stadium, Uyo.
Cyril Olisema scored the first goal of the game with a 25th minute strike.
Five minutes later, former CHAN Eagles midfielder, Christian Pyabara made it 2-0 scoring from an Aremu assist.
Spartan FC pulled one back from the spot kick after Akwa United failed to defend well in the box in the 65th minute.
