EL-KANEMI Warriors of Maiduguri has named Alhaji Abubakar Abubakar 'Dan Fulani' as its new General Coordinator ahead the kick off of the new Nigeria Premier League (NPL) season, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
Dan Fulani who recently quit his role with Shooting Stars of Ibadan by mutual consent said in a phone call that the decision to leave the Oluyole Warriors for El-Kanemi was personal.
"I want to inform you that I have left 3SC for El-Kanemi Warriors.
"I want to thank my former employers for given me the chance to work with them for over two years, I wish Shooting Stars the best in future.
"Am now close to my family and loved ones. I also want to express my gratitude to the Chairman of El-Kanemi Warriors, Alhaji Zanna Mohammed Mala Kakaje for the appointment. I promise to do my best for the Borno Army.
Meanwhile Kakaje disclosed that the appointment of Dan Fulani was to further boost the team as part of efforts to ensuring the end the new season successful by clinching a continental ticket.
“We are not leaving anything to chance in making the club secure a continental ticket. We’re taking concrete steps that will further step up the performance of the team and this is part of it."
Dan Fulani who had one time worked with Enyimba FC of Aba and Sunshine Stars of Akure, is expected to resume with Elkanemi on Monday, January 9, 2017, as the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League is expected to kick off January 14.
El-Kanemi Warriors will be away to Rivers United on matchday one.
