POISED to see his team win a major silverware this season or clinch a continental ticket, Coach Godwin Koko Uwua schooled his Lobi Stars players as they prepare for the kick-off of the 2016/17 Nigeria Premier League season, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
The 'magical' tactician tasked the intelligent quotient (IQ) of his players on the rudiments of the game during a lecture session on Friday.
Uwua who completed a training course in German with Bundesliga side, Mainz05 lectured his players on the different match winning strategies and playing patterns.
The session began with a lecture programme with illustrations on the pitch board as his assistants and players paid rapt attention, before a question and answer session that lasted for almost three hours.
The day then ended with an evening training session at the Aper Aku stadium playing turf.
Lobi Stars, who were crowned Gold Cup Pre-season Tournament champions last December will begin its quest for a silverware this season with a matchday one game against Shooting Stars of Ibadan at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba on January 15.
Recall last season the Food Basket team pipped a Kadiri Ikhana led Shooting Stars of Ibadan at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba in their first game.
Former 3SC and Sunshine Stars ace, Kingsley Eduwo winning and only goal of the game handed Lobi their first 3points on the road.
