Five-star MFM FC go top of NPL log, crack Tornadoes

MOUNTAIN of Fire and Miracles Ministries FC of Lagos displayed a five-star performance as they shot three goal past Niger Tornadoes in less than 40minutes of the first half, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
Goals from the trio of Olatunbosun Sikiru, Odey Stephen and Adekunle Adegboyega shot the Olukoya Boys top of the Nigeria Premier League log with 3points and a plus 3goals difference after the results from the matchday one fixtures.
Tornadoes ought to have punished MFM FC in the opening session of the game when they had the chance, but their striker was naive at goal.
The Lagos-based team thrilled their fans with sumptuous display of their free flowing and not missing the services of the likes of Ifeanyi Ifeanyi to record what could be their biggest scoreline of the new season.
MFM FC fans were thrown into jubilation after 25 minutes as Sikiru Olatunbosun put his team in front after he made the most of Tornadoes poor school defending to tap a lose ball into the net for his first goal of the season.
The Olukoya Boys who increased the tempo of their attractive brand of football, were rewarded for it after birthday boy, Stephen Odey doubled the lead for coach Fidelis  Ilechukwu's men with a master class finish in the 29th minute.
Adekunle Adegboyega then put the icing on the cake for his team in the 32nd minute of the game as he netted the third goal of the day after he collected a low pass from Olatunbosun.
Coach Bala's men came out strong in the second 45 minutes of the match as they poured forward in their numbers but the Olukoya Boys defenders stood tall with Folarin Abayomi pulling brilliant saves.
Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu and his wards will travel to Nnewi to face FC Ifeanyi Ubah on Wednesday in Match Day 2 of the new Nigerian top flight season.
