REPORT in France claim that Super Eagles captain and Chelsea's John Obi Mikel move to French Ligue 1 side, Olympique de Marseille could be scuttled by his wages, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
Le10Sports wrote that Andoni Zubizarreta would have to drop the interest for John Obi Mikel.
The Nigerian who's considered a surplus requirement since the arrival of Antonio Conte, was been linked to the French side and other Italian Serie A clubs.
Mikel is tipped to stable the midfield of team as Marseille is eager to readjust the squad strength of Rudi Garcia.
But the problem facing the club is Mikel's salary, as the French team may not be able to match his demands. It's been reported that he currently earns close to £80,000-per-week with the London club while is contract is expected to expire by June this year.
It's been suggested that Zubizarreta would have to meet directly with the Chelsea management as regard tabling a pay-cut offer for the Nigerian or perhaps shop for another player.
