FRENCH Lique 1 side, Olympique Marseille has given reasons why they pull the plug of the bid to sign Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel from Chelsea last week, it has been revealed.
OM insiders insist they withdrew their interest before Mikel settled on a deal with Los Che.
A source told Foot Mercato: "It will not happen, Obi Mikel to OM, the bidding is over.
"OM prefers to rely on players who are part of the long-term project. They prefer French or Francophone players who are familiar with OM culture."
Meanwhile the Nigerian is reported to have agreed a deal in principle to join La Liga strugglers, Valencia.
