EXECUTIVE Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Akinwummi Ambode has signed the Sports Commission and Sports Trust Fund bills to law, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
According to Ambode, the Sport Comm Bill and Sport Trust Fund were signed into law for the growth of potentials in the sport sector.
Giving insight into the laws, Gov Ambode said the Sports Commission will make law that will give legal backing to the implementation of sport policies in Lagos state.
The sport trust fund will enable government to raise money for the development of sporting facilities and activities in Lagos state.
These bills will help to bridge a gap between the public and private sector
to help in the development of the sport sector in the state.
Ambode also reiterate his government commitment to scaling up sports dev and make the state the hub of sports in Nigeria.
The Sport Trust Fund Bill will help to generate income and revenue for the sector, says Governor Ambode.
