Go Round FC happy with new NNL format

GENERAL Manager of Go Round FC, Soni Uboh says he is happy about the new format of the Nigeria National League that kicks off in March.
Uboh, speaking shortly after the draws in Abuja on Thursday said this format is best for teams who really want to enjoy a good season and survive the rigors of the top flight if they gain promotion.
“In the past three years we have played a Super abridged League where there were only eight clubs in each group and we end up playing 14 matches in a full season.
“This format did not help clubs who gained promotion because they were not used to the idea of playing a thirty eight game season and you can see by the number of newly promoted clubs that go down immediately.
“Look at the League this season you will see that the likes of Remo Stars are suffering and this is because of the somewhat easy qualification race in the NNL. So it will be more tasking but will be better for us all in the long run,” Uboh said.
Go Round FC start with a trip to Lagos on Match Day 1 against First Bank FC and the General Manager is sure they have done enough to get the lads ready for the challenge ahead.
“The Team has support from the club president, Brother Felix Obuah and so have no reason to fail.
“The players are well paid and this payment is on time too. Their welfare conditions are good as the new camp is in near perfect condition, twenty four hours electricity and access to recreational facilities like a gymnasium, tennis and basketball courts at the Kris Dera Hotel complex.
“The president has said he will not deny this team anything it needs to succeed and it is on this premise that we start the league,” Uboh said.
The NNL season kicks off on March 17, 2017.
