Mikel fly to China for Tianjin TEDA medical

 

SUPER Eagles skipper, Mikel John Obi is set for a medical with Tianjin TEDA.

The Daily Mail of the United Kingdom says the Chelsea midfielder will undergo a medical with the Chinese Super League side today (Thursday).

The 29-year-old has been offered a three-year deal worth around £140,000-per-week.

Personal terms are yet to be rubber-stamped but the move is close to completion.

Mikel missed the start of the campaign, and the early days of Antonio Conte's reign, to play for Nigeria at the Olympic Games.

Recall Italian sports news wire source, TMW informed that Tianjin Teda tabled a three-year deal worth up to €9 million-a-year - (about #2, 949, 346,728 Billion) which Mikel accepted thus seeing Spanish La Liga side, Valencia opting out of the race to sign him.

ITALIAN Serie A giants, Juventus could hijack John Obi Mikel from French Lique 1 side, Marseille by tabling a bid to Chelsea when the window opens in January, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.

According to Tuttosport, the Turin side who could sought to reinforcement the team in the midfield may see Mikel as a possible option.

Meanwhile it's not certain if the Old Lady would choose to sign the Super Eagles captain on a permanent deal, but a loan deal is could be on the cards for the 29-year-old.

Mikel is yet to make a Premier League appearance for Chelsea since the naming of Antonio Conte as coach, is still under contract with the Blues until next June.

Recall ex-teammate and Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba last week advised the Nigerian to accept a deal from Marseille rather than move to China or Qatar.
