Sunshine Stars fines Odunlami N2.5M

SUNSHINE Stars International of Akure has lifted the indefinite suspension placed on its defender, Kunle Odunlami for absconding from the team with immediate effect.
The Akure Gunners management took the decision following the intervention of some prominent Nigerians from within and outside the country.
The club has also asked the CHAN Eagles defender to write a letter of apology to the management and to his colleagues for the embarrassment, pain and loss caused as a result of his actions which contributed to the defeat suffered in the hands of Rangers of Enugu in a Week 14 match at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium.
Sunshine Stars has also approved the recommendations of the disciplinary committee set up to look into the possible sanctions to be meted out to Odunlami.
Odumlami is to pay a fine of N2.5 million naira to the club, and he is expected to pay the fine within the next 60 days.
Odunlami had abandoned and absconded from Sunshine Stars to undergo pre contract medical test at Raja Casablanca of Morocco some weeks ago.
