NIGERIA Football Federation (NFF) will between Wednesday and Thursday next week unveil Sunday Oliseh as the new Super Eagles Chief Coach, an official said on Friday in Abuja.
Ademola Olajire, NFF’s Assistant Director of Communications, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the federation had almost concluded talks with the former Super Eagles captain.
Olajire said an offer had been made to the player by the NFF and all the final details of the agreement had also been concluded.
“The only thing that is left is for the Federation to officially unveil Oliseh as Nigeria’s national team chief coach and that will be done either on Wednesday or on Thursday.
NAN recalls that the Federation had earlier in the week confirmed it was holding talks with Oliseh with regards to the vacant position at the Super Eagles.
The NFF had last weekend terminated the appointment of another former captain, Stephen Keshi, over “breaches of core terms of his contract’’.
Following the encouragement of a team of the NFF Technical and Development Committee working on filling the vacant position, Oliseh met with NFF President Amaju Pinnick in London.
NAN also recalls that the Federation said Oliseh would come with a Foreign Technical Assistant, whose job description would centre on development programmes.
It said the Foreign Technical Assistant would work with league clubs’ youth teams and certified academies towards developing the game from the grassroots.
The NFF had said coach Salisu Yusuf, who had earlier been named as the assistant coach in the interim technical crew, would be in the new team.
