3SC make U-turn, name Ikhana as coach

By Rasaq Oboirien
THE management of cash crunch Shooting Stars of Ibadan has made a U-turn by confirming Kadiri Ikhana as their new coach NaijaSportsXtra can now inform.
The veteran Edo-born coach replaces Gbenga Ogunbote who left the Oluyole Warriors to join Giwa FC of Jos.
Recall on Monday, it was gathered that the IICC Shooting Stars of Ibadan were considering Sunshine Stars Technical Director Henry Abiodun after they claimed that Ikhana's wage demand and personal terms were too rich for the club.
But NaijaSportsXtra can report that Ikhana who guided Enyimba FC of Aba to winning its 7th Nigeria Premier League title last season has soft pedal by yielding to the terms of the Oluyole Warriors.
In a text message sent by a close source in the club after the ex-Sharks coach agreed to join Shooting Stars read: "We have confirmed Kadiri Ikhana as our new coach, he says regardless of money, he wishes to work as the next 3SC coach."
Ikhana would be unveiled to the club fans and press in a later date.

The Oluyole Warriors who are set to compete in the Gold Cup in Ijebu-Ode this week, kick-off their season with an home game against Lobi Stars of Makurdi on matchday 1.
