THE Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) has concluded plans to host a 4 or 6-team invitational tournament before the new Nigeria Premier League (NPL) season kicks off.
Sunshine Stars who recently completed its pre-season tour of Ibadan will compete with other invited teams during the week long championship which is expected to commence as from February 7th in Akure.NaijaSportsXtra gathered on Monday from the club's spokesperson, Wahab Bankole that: "The Ondo League Management Committee has concluded plans to stage the invitational championship.
"But I can't be specific on the number or kind of teams that would be invited as it could be either NPL or a mix of NPL and NNL teams," he said.
Recall the Coach Samson Unuanel led Akure team recorded a victory, draw and two defeats during their tour of Ibadan were they locked horns against Shooting Stars, Abia Warriors and newly promoted MFM FC of Lagos.
