Giwa FC will fall in Makurdi-Victor Makalala

By Rasaq Oboirien
VICTOR Makalala says his Lobi Stars side will bounce back to winning form by claiming the 3points against Giwa FC of Jos on matchday 17 in Makurdi.
Recall the Godwin Koko Uwa team lost to Ifeanyi Ubah FC on matchday 16 via a lone goal.
Makalala told NaijaSportsXtra, "The game against Ifeanyi Ubah was tough and could have gone either way, and I would say we were unlucky not to have come out of the tie with at least a point.
"My mates and I have put the loss behind us, to concentrate on the game against Giwa FC.
"They are good side; I was privileged to see them train in Ijebu-Ode during the Gold Cup pre-season championship, more so they are been handled by an experienced manager too.
"We'll approach the game with caution and with the sole aim of claiming the 3points."The 2015 Federations Cup runners-up are placed 7th on the Nigeria Premier League log with 25points.
Asked if the Makurdi side can win any silverware at the end of the season, the ex Major League Soccer (MLS) star stated: "Sure. The season is not half way yet, so the race for the NPL title is still open, as its 3points difference between Rangers and us.
“However, I feel Lobi Stars will banish its recent Federation Cup no-win jinx by winning the trophy at the end of this current season.
"Though I was not with them when the team lost the final to Akwa United, I know that many of the lads still feel the pains losing the match and they have learnt one or two lessons from it. So, with hard work and commitment we’ll get it right this time around."
The Round of 64 of the 2016 edition of the Federations Cup will kick-off across the country next week.
