Starlets better than Go Round FC-Eguavoen

AUSTIN Eguavoen, head coach of Akwa Starlets says his side was more technical than Go Round FC.
A goal in each half from Stanley Worlu and Nyima Nwangwa gave Go RoundFC a 2-0 win over Akwa Starlets in their opening game of the NigeriaNational League.
Stanley Worlu headed home a corner kick taken by Joseph Emeka in the 6th minute and captain of the side, Nyima made it two when he converted from close range in the 86th minute.
“I believe we were the more technical side than Go Round FC. Go Round were more physical than we were today and they used their strengths to their advantage.“They are a physical side and I told my boys to expect such from them.
We dominated in the second half, had half chances and missed two clear cut chances. We will go home and try to get the three points next week.
“I think overall, a draw would have been the best result for this game,”Eguavoen said.
Coach of Go Round FC, Ngozi Elechi said he was not surprised his side beat Akwa United.
“In a pre-season tournament in Benin last week, we beat Akwa Starlets.
Besides, the attitude of the players have changed a lot between last season and now and that’s why I was a bit confident that we would win,” Elechi said.
