Brave Ikorodu Utd pick first away point
By Rasaq Oboirien
IKORODU United of Lagos recorded their first point on the road this season after Abia Warriors forced them to share spoils at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
The Onikan water front team whose assistant Coach, Benson Edema was sent to the stands put up a brave fight as they took a shocking lead via an Anayo Thankgod volley from a
Oluwole Balogun assist.
As the second half clock ticked away, the Lagos team defended with caution cutting off most of Abia Warriors attack.
Chisom Chikatara could have leveled the scoreline in the 50th minute but shoots straight at Ikorodu keeper who saves.Five minutes later, Abia Warriors players thought they had equalized, but the match official ruled it out for offside.
But in the 75th minute their defence line was finally broken after Michael Olaha scored the equalising goal for the home team.
The point still see Ikorodu United languish on the bottom of the Nigeria Premier League log with 14 points from 21 games.
