COACH Rafael Everton believes his Ifeanyi Ubah side won't be missing the services of Alberico Da Silva and Elu Wilson as they look set to extend their unbeaten run to 10 matches in all competitions when the clash against five time champions Kano Pillars today.
Da Silva picked up a knock against Warri Wolves in the Fed Cup last 8 game in Ijebu-Ode during the week while Elu is down with malaria.
"Yes two of our players will not be available against Pillars but the team has very good players capable of replacing them. The fact that we are also on an unbeaten run has also increased our morale. This will help us."
Also backing the team to do well even in his absence is Elu Wilson. The defender doesn’t think that his absence will be felt.
"My absence doesn’t mean anything, we are a team and our objective is to win the match. It doesn’t matter whether I play or not the boys are capable of getting the result."
FC Ifeanyi Ubah who are yet to win against Kano Pillars since returning to the top flight of Nigerian football will be hoping to break the jinx in front of the home fans.
Everton believes his team has what it takes to win the match.
"It is a very big match, a game between two good sides. I believe the match is going to be very tactical and the team that is tactically disciplined will carry the day. We know what is at stake, a win will bring us back into contention to finish in the top three so we are going to play with every seriousness."
Another player who thinks FC Ifeanyi Ubah has what it takes to defeat Kano Pillars is Benin International, Isaac Loute.
The utility player believes that come full time today the unbeaten run will be maintained.
"We have what it takes to defeat Kano Pillars, the atmosphere is camp is good and we are fully focused for the game. I can assure our fans that we will perform better than what we did in Owerri, we are going to do our very best to get all three points. Not only the three points but play well and score goals so as to put a smile on our owners face. He has invested a lot of money and a victory is all he deserves."
The former Pillars man went on to declare that the players and staff are fully focused on getting a continental ticket this season.
"We have a target, we want a continental ticket and thus made up our minds to continue our unbeaten run. Like I said earlier, our owner has spent a lot so our only way to reward him is by getting a continental ticket."
However, the team welcomes back Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Ismaila Gata, Tope Orelupe, Emmanuel Okoh, Wasiu Jimoh, Stephen Adah and Chijioke Ejiogu who all missed the Federation Cup quarter finals win against Wolves because they were cup tied.
