Okon blast ref after Rivers Angels first loss

EDWIN Okon has expressed disappointment at the match officials after Rivers Angels suffered its first loss of the season to Sunshine Queens in the Nigeria Women Premier League(NWPL).
Two goals from Ijeoma Obi and Funso Ogunrinola gave the Akure Queens the maximum 3points.
“I must say this is the worst officiating I have ever seen in my entire career,” Okon lamented.
“They claim we robbed them when they came to Port Harcourt but we also played them on a neutral ground during the Federation Cup quarter-finals in Abuja and still came out victorious,"said Okon.
On the numerous offside calls by the assistant referees, Okon said;
“Those calls frustrated my girls, they couldn't go upfront, even the throws that were ruled as foul throws were discouraging”, he added.
Head coach of Sunshine Queens, Wemimo Mathew after the game said she was impressed with the way her girls played.
“I feel very happy with the game when we went to their home we lost 2-0 and have won them here today on the same margin”
“I appreciate the efforts of my girls, they did quite well and at the end, we came out victorious”, she added.
Rivers Angels will be at home next weekend to take on Adamawa Queens.
