Amazons don't scare Angels, says Okon

TECHNICAL Adviser of six times Women Federation Cup champions, Rivers Angels, Edwin Okon says his side must beat Nasarawa Amazons today to boost their chances of bringing the title back to Rivers State and her people.
Angels saw off a stubborn Sunshine Queens 2-1 in Abuja on their way to getting to the semi-final and Okon has emphasised on his team's readiness ahead of this evening's all-important clash.
“We are ready for Nasarawa Amazons, we’ve been training very hard for this game, its left for the players to display what they’ve been taught on the pitch,” Okon enthused.
Rivers Angels were knocked out last season by Confluence Queens at the quarter-final stage at the same venue.
But Okon has insisted that his wards have no bad memory of the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium ahead of the clash.
“Yes is true we lost a quarter-final clash to Confluence last season on this same venue but it doesn’t mean anything to us now because that loss is in the past,”the gaffer said.
“Today's game is totally different and we intend to approach it with a different mindset.
“The players have been told what to do, Nasarawa Amazons is no pushover so they need to apply wisdom,”he added.
Both teams met in the 2013 Federation Cup finals where Rivers Angels were 3-0 better with Gloria Ofoegbu bagging a brace and Ghanaian Elizabeth Ado completing the rout.
