SEVEN times Nigeria Premier League(NPL) champions, Enyimba FC of Aba have rubbished reports linking the club as regard hiring of Shooting Stars of Ibadan coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
The Aba Millionaires in a statement it posted on its twitter handle @EnyimbaFC on Friday evening stated thus: The attention of Enyimba Football Club has been drawn to the recent media reports of the club being in touch with new coaches and players.
With claims that these coaches and players are in talks with the club and a move will be finalized soon. These are false reports.
We acknowledge that it is common practice that a player or coach who wants to boost his image will claim he has been contacted by Enyimba.
The Club is in no such discussions and should such need arise, knows whichever Coach or player it needs and will hire such a person professionally not on the pages of newspapers.
At the moment, we are fully focused on the upcoming Federation Cup semifinals and are not happy with these false reports.
Journalists should do a proper job of inquiring from the club if a claim is true before posting such stories.
The People's Elephants lock horns with Nasarawa United in the second Fed Cup semi-final at the Lekan Salami Stadium on October 15.
