GERNOT Rohr has revealed that Arsenal striker, Alex Iwobi will be key for the Super Eagles as his team concludes it preparations for Sunday's Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Zambia in Ndola, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
The German coach couldn't hide his delight for the Young Gun who has made an impressive start for Arsenal this season, but was a huge lose for Nigeria after injury ruled him out Nigeria's AFCON 2017 dead-rubber game against Tanzania.
"I'm happy to have Alex Iwobi back in the Super Eagles. He was greatly missed against Tanzania but we are happy to have this good player"
"The problem in Uyo was we couldn't score enough. We had 27 shots on goal but only 1 on target. That's why Iwobi's presence is key," he said at a parley on Friday in Abuja.
Recall Iwobi made his presence felt under the new technical adviser when he bagged a brace in a warm-up game against Nigeria Premier League side, Plateau United despite playing as a second half sub.
