AWCON 2016: Onazi backs Super Falcons to beat Mali

SUPER Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi has backed African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) defending champions, Super Falcons to beat Mali, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
The coach Florence Omagbemi team who completed their last warm up session Saturday evening at the Stade Municipal de Limbe, is gunning for a 10th women title in Cameroon.
The Turkey based midfielder said on Sunday morning, "Today, we stand solidly behind the Super Falcons believing them to go on and go forth. Trusting them to do us as proud as they always have."
In the team first pre-match press chat, Omagbemi who looks set to become the first woman to win the AWCON title as a former player and now coach said: “We are looking forward to playing in the final.With a little bit of hardwork we will do more than what we did in Namibia."
The coach however noted that her side cannot afford to underrate any team at this years tournament that started yesterday.
“We have played against Mali before, and we know they are no pushovers. Now, Kenya are coming to the African championship for the first time, but from the way they qualified, after beating Algeria, they must be respected.
The Falcons first Group B game against the Mali Ladies Eagles holds today at the Stade Municipal de Limbe.
