Eagles hit Uyo Wednesday for Algeria

NIGERIA'S Super Eagles will travel to Uyo on Wednesday to continue preparations for Saturday’s World Cup qualifier against Algeria Desert Foxes, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
After it was first decided that the squad leave Abuja on Thursday, officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have now informed of the Wednesday date, as the Eagles began training Tuesday morning.
According to Eagles spokesman Toyin Ibitoye, "The training lasted for an hour and a half and it was really meant to loosen up the players and ascertain any injury problems.
“Twenty players trained, while three players are still being expected – Oghenekaro Etebo, Dele Alampasu and Elderson Echiejile.
“The team will also train this evening at 5pm local time and will leave for Uyo by 3pm tomorrow (Wednesday) after the morning training.”
About 21 players are already in camp for the match day 2 African World Cup qualifiers against the Desert Foxes of Algeria in Uyo on November 12.
Recall visitors Algeria are expected in the country Thursday as they informed that the team, members of their FA, some journalists and fans will jet out from Algiers via a chartered Air Algeria flight.
Nigeria top Group B with 3points following the victory recorded against Zambia in Ndola on match day 1 while Algeria and Cameroon have a point each.
