Gold Cup; Naija LEAGUE Magazine donates plaques for MVP, Top Scorer


PUBLISHER of Naija LEAGUE Magazine , Aikhoje Ojeikere, have decided to support the organizers of the annual Gold Cup Pre-season Tournament by presenting  the event Most Valuable Player and Top Scorer a befitting plaque as way of encouraging them.
Having monitored the tournament in the past the ace Journalists cum Public Relations Practitioner decided to contribute his quota to the success of the 4th edition of the tourney which is scheduled to take place at the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, between Friday November 26 through Saturday December 4, 2016, with Kano Pillars, Enyimba, FC Ebedei, Lobi Stars, Niger Tornadoes, MFM FC, Remo Stars, Crown FC, Supreme Court among the participating teams.
Aikhoje explained the reasons behind his unflinching support to the General Coordinator of the tourney, Tunde Shamsudeen, stating that the tournament's best players must be celebrated hence his reasons for sponsoring the awards.
"Our objective at Naija LEAGUE is to tell the story of the Nigerian Professional Football League(NPFL) so that more Nigerians will embrace it. Celebrate the players as well as teams, again and again and again.
"And we want to be a research outlet for the League. We've gathered statistics from the era of the old Amateur League through, Professional League, the PEPSI Professional League, Glo Premier League and now NPFL.
"Naija LEAGUE is partnering the Gold Cup by sponsoring the MVP and Highest Goal Scorer Award because we love celebrating the stars.”
Former Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champion, Kano Pillars won the last edition of the pre-season event with a 2-1 triumph over Supreme Court FC of Abuja.
