Gombe Utd signs Umar Zango from El-Kanemi

GOMBE United has beefed up its squad ahead the commencement of the new Nigeria Premier League (NPL) season after agreeing terms to sign El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri center-half, Umar Zango.
NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com gathered that both clubs have agreed terms as what is now left is for the ex-CHAN Eagles defender to be unveiled officially to the fans and media.
Zango, who is Coach Manu Garba's first big signing was a key figure in Kano Pillars' successes over the years.
According to our source who is close to Zango said in a chat: "Gombe will be his new home as he has agreed to join the newly promoted premier league side.
"He's happy with the move and he's ready to boost the Savannah Scorpions defence and indeed the entire team with his wealth of experience too.

"Mind you, he also an ambitious player, so he's looking to play under Manu Garba and also win silverware with the club."
Recall Garba who was unveiled on Monday met with the players and his back room staff on Wednesday evening at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe.
The ex-Eaglets winning coach while speaking with the team was quoted by Halilu Teli to have said that: "I want to urge the players not to loose their belt and to adhere strictly to my playing patterns.
"They also need to be cautious on the type of food they eat before and after training sessions too. Complacency, he said need be avoided as we want to achieve the club's set target at the end of the season.
"He then appealed to the other members of his back room staff to accord him the needed support, as its in the best interest of the club that they work as a team."
