Gov. Dankwambo vows to pay Gombe Utd players, coaches all entitlements

HIS Excellency, Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has assured that all club's indemnities, match bonuses and other entitlements as well as season's kick off funds would be made available to Gombe United  by his administration.
Dankwambo who received the management board, technical crew, players and supporters of the club at the Government House Thursday, said the gesture is part of his on way of expressing appreciation to the team who picked a promotion ticket two years after it sojourn in Nigeria's second tier division.
The number one state citizen acknowledged the fact that sports in general is a money making venture and an avenues of providing jobs to the teaming youth, hence his decision to give top priority to the sports sector, citing the proposed Institute Of Sports.
The multi-awards Governor of the year challenged corporate  organizations, financial institutions and wealthy individuals especially indigene of the state to invest in the sector, in order to reduced the over reliance on government.
He assured that if the club win the Nigeria Premier League (NPL), whatever assistance needed to execute the continental assignment would be provided. 
While assuring to reciprocate the gesture, Alh.Salihu Adviser appealed for financial intervention to achieve set target.
The Governor paid special tribute to the former captain of the club, Alhaji Kwairanga who spent over twenty seasons describing him as a true son of the soil.
