Victory against Algeria won't come easy-Akpeyi

DANIEL Akpeyi has stressed that the Super Eagles players need to double their effort against Algeria in this weekend's 2018 World Cup qualifier in Uyo.
Speaking to chippautdfc.co.za from national team camp on Thursday morning Akpeyi said; “It is a privilege and honour for me to be called up to the national team.
“It is an utmost joy of every soccer player to be part of his national team and here I have another treasured opportunity, so it means a lot to me.
“The mood in the camp is heart-warming, friendly and there is a bond between the players. This is good because key to the team that needs victory is togetherness,” continued Akpeyi.
Algeria will not be pushovers and Akpeyi and company is aware insisting he and his teammates are equal to the task; “Algeria is rated first in Africa as things stand and considering the fact that they drew at home to Cameroon they will be hungry to fight against us. We are not expecting an easy game but we are equal to the task.
Akpeyi pointed out that he and his teammates are using the failure to qualify for the last World Cup in Brazil as a motivation, “We lost out to Brazil 2014 and also the Nations Cup in Gabon next year so this is the only chance for us to redeem the image of our national team.
“I am sure that I speak on behalf of every player in the national team. We are ready to fight for the badge, make history and emerge again and it all starts on November 12 against Algeria,” concluded Akpeyi.
