Kayode vows to stop Rivers Utd in Uyo

AKWA United goalkeeper Olufemi Kayode has urged his team mates to put behind them, their 3-1 defeat against ABS but to focus more on beating Rivers United in Uyo on Wednesday.
Coach Abdul Maikaba's boys suffered a shock defeat in Ilorin against a newly promoted ABS FC and will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways when they host Rivers United in a week two fixture at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium.
Speaking ahead of the match, Kayode charged his team mates not to distracted by their defeat on match day one but exhibit strong mental attitude while targeting their first victory in the NPFL this season.
"We are very sorry that we lost our first match of the season away from home, I wants my team mates to forget about what happened in Ilorin. Our attention is already fixed on the game against Rivers United and we have resolved to give our fans something to cheer about because it is a game we have to win."
The team's number one goalkeeper believes that the team will recover from the first match setback and challenge for the league title.
"We are determined, we are focused and we know that we still have 37 matches to play, so we want to start with picking points from our next match which will be played in front of our home fans. We are fully ready to regain our lost grounds."
Meanwhile, the management of the club has revealed that football fans wishing to watch Akwa United's matches in Uyo will have to pay the sum of Five Hundred and Two Hundred Naira for a VIP and popular seat respectively.
