USMAN Barau has declared he will only quit his hometown club for a club overseas because he has received total support in his five years there.
Barau has played all six matches for Katsina United in this NPFL season and he said he will continue to give everything to ensure the club who gave him his big break stay in the top league.
“I have been with Katsina United for five years and I do not plan to leave the club for any club in Nigeria,” he vowed.
“I rejected offers from Lobi Stars and Niger Tornadoes to stay put at Katsina.
“The only time I will leave Katsina would be for me to move overseas.
“This is because the management and chairman have been doing everything for us.
“We’re not owed any monies from last season, while salaries and bonuses are not only regular, they are prompt. Even the top clubs in Nigeria hardly do what Katsina United are doing.”
He is equally thrilled to make his debut in the country’s elite league.
“It’s great and a new experience to play in the NPFL for the first time,” he remarked.
“We have started well as a team and we hope to sustain the tempo till the end of the season.”
