NIGERIA National League (NNL) side, Ikorodu United have secured the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta for use this season after paying the sum of Seven Hundred Thousand Naira (#700,000) to the Ogun State Ministry of Sports, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
The GoTv sponsored team who got relegated from the topflight division last season, recalled played their last five games in Abeokuta after dumping their home ground the Onikan Waterfront Stadium.
It was gathered from a source that a Zenith Bank teller was presented to the Ogun State Sports Ministry in January by one of the top brass of the Oga Boys.
"Ikorodu United have paid for the use of the MKO Abiola Stadium as their home ground for the new NNL season.
"A Zenith bank teller of #700,000 was presented to the accounts department of the Ogun State Sports Ministry and subsequently a receipt was issued regarding the payment."
The club will on February 23 know it's fixtures for the season as NNL will hold its Club Congress/Draws in Abuja.
The country's second tier division season is expected a North and South format of two groups unlike last season were the NNL adopted an abridged league system of four groups with the four top teams getting promoted to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
All the 32 teams will be divided into two groups of 16 teams each. The Group A teams will consist NNL teams based in the north (North East, North Central and North West) and Group B teams based in the south (South West, South East and South-South).
The top two teams from the two groups will automatically qualify to play elite football next season, while the NNL Super 4 that will be hosted of the season with the four promoted teams squaring it up against themselves will determine the winner of the league.
