LUKMAN Mohammed is confident that Rivers United can get at least a draw in their CAF Champions League 1st leg preliminary round game against Real Bamako at the Stade Omnisports Modibo Keïta this weekend, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
The former Lobi Stars ace who scored Rivers United equalizing goal in the first half, rued his second half miss against Shooting Stars of Ibadan.
Lukman should have given his team the lead but his clever chip against goalkeeper Abubakar went over the woodwork.
"I thought I had scored as I didn't put much power on the ball, but that's football.
"We really should have got a point too."
On the game against Real Bamako, "We can get something out of the game if we work harder, play to instructions and not lose focus.
"Malian teams are no pushovers, but if we can score and not to concede much goal, then we can always make use of the advantage of the second leg in Port-Harcourt'" he said.
Meanwhile, the team used the Lead City University pitch in Ibadan to perfect their game plans. Recall the Stade Omnisports Modibo Keïta playing turf is natural grass.
Stanley Eguma and his team are expected to jet out of Lagos to Bamako on Thursday.
