LOBI Stars FC of Makurdi vice-chairman, Mike Idoko has admitted that they are still fine tuning their team ahead the commencement of the new Nigeria Premier League season which begins on February 21.
“Am happy with the players display but I think we haven't really got a team that can wrestle the likes of Enyimba or Kano Pillars for the Nigeria Premier League title.
"The team is barely three weeks old, but the interesting side of it is that the players improving and taking the Gold Cup pre-season matches as they come.
"Meanwhile, they team still need to prepare very hard and the Gold Cup tourney has been of good help to the technical crew who after two games must have known its strength and weakness.
"However, we are also trying to blend the old and new players together to see if we can get a formidable team and also look at the players that will be placed on transfer or asked to stay.
"As regards the players we intend to recruit, that I can't make public as it’s an in-house matter that should be left for the management of Lobi Stars and its technical crew."
The Makurdi based team will begin their 2015/16 Nigeria Premier League quest with an away game to Shooting Stars of Ibadan at the Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan.
