ZAMBIA'S Wedson Nyirenda has told Chipolopolo not to be intimidated by the star studded Nigeria Super Eagles as the two nations slug it out in next month's 2018 FIFA World Cup Group B qualifier at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Nyirenda told a news daily in Lusaka, Post while he made comments regarding coach Gernot Rohr's 23-man team to be led by Chelsea star John Obi Mikel, Kelechi Iheanacho, Ahmed Musa, Victor Moses and a host of other players who ply their trade in some Europe best leagues.
But Nyirenda said football was not about names.
“Players should not be intimidated; football is not about names, the football of playing names is long gone. What matters is how you apply yourselves and preparation. Chipolopolo equally has stars,” said Nyirenda, who last week named a 33 provisional team to face Nigeria with bulk of the team been local based players.
Other Group B opponents include Algeria and Cameroon.
