BLACK Queens of Ghana fought back to share spoils with arch rivals and African Women Nations Cup defending champions, Super Falcons in a second Group B game played on Wednesday at the Stade de Limbe, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
Tournament top scorer and Arsenal Ladies striker, Asistat Oshoala put her goal tally to five after she opened the scoring for Super Falcons in 22nd minute after Cynthia Adobia deflected the ball into her net to send the Nigerian fans to joyous celebration.
The lead didn't last for long as a brave Black Queens levelled the score through Elizabeth Addo in the closing minutes of first half via the penalty spot after Halimat Ayinde has fouled her in the box.
As both teams played out themselves searching for the winning goal in the second end, Falcons thought they should have had a penalty in the 89th minute after Oshoala appeared to have gone down under a challenge from the Ghanaian keeper, but the referee waved play on.
Nigeria now need to convincingly beat Kenya in their final group match to assure themselves of the top spot. Ghana play Mali in their final match also on Saturday in Yaounde and they will also hope to win by a convincing margin as they are currently second in the group with an inferior goal difference.
