Ogunbote sealed Enyimba deal after Fed Cup loss to Nasarawa

OUT OF CONTRACT Gbenga Ogunbote's deal with seven times Nigeria Premier League (NPL) champions, Enyimba International of Aba was done and dusted in Ibadan, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
The People's Elephants boss, Felix Anyansi and his close confidant who watched in dismay as coach Paul Aigbogun and his assistants could not salvage the club's season as the went down to a lone goal to Nasarawa United, after the game, put a call through to Ogunbote.
Recall, Ogunbote was yet to agree to a new contract with his former employers, after he successfully guided the Oluyole Warriors to a 15th place finish on the log.
Both parties were said to have met later in the evening at an undisclosed hotel in Ibadan, where Anyansi was said to have asked the ex-Sunshine Stars to state his terms.
After less than an hour discussion, Ogunbote was told that he would need to come to Aba to meet the Abia State Commissioner for Sports and then a deal would be agreed.
However, the ex- Giwa FC of Jos been a long favorite for the Elephants of Aba job considering his wealth of experience in the Nigeria Premier League and continent, little wonder he was handed the job by Enyimba, when Kadiri Ikhana was shown the exit door after winning a record 7th league title for the Aba Millionaires.
But Ogunbote was said to have turned it down on the reason that he could not replace the Edo born coach  immediately, as he had much respect for him.
