Olawale,  11 others for African Beach Soccer Qualifiers


ISIAKA Olawale and 11 other players have been called up for the 2016 African Beach Soccer Championships slated for Lagos in December.
Coach of Nigeria Beach Soccer national team, Isah Adamu Ejor sticker to the team's long serving captain, Olawale, Bartholomew Ibenegbu, Victor Tale, Abu Azeez and Musa Najere.
Other players invited to make their first appearance with the Sand Eagles are Joseph Osadaiye from Enyimba, Abubakar Isah Ejinya from Confluence Beach Soccer Team, Sunday Alasco from Kada Beach Team, Gabriel Wassa and Chindeu Nwanze from Niger Tornadoes and Peter Micheal from Crown FC.
The invited players are expected on camp on Monday at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos.
Ejor said the early camping became necessary for the newly boys to jel with the old ones adding that the team will work towards clinching the championship to represent Africa in Bahamas next year.
Hosts Nigeria have been paired in Group A alongside Egypt, Ghana and Ivory Coast.
The 2016 Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations, also known as the 2016 CAF Beach Soccer Championship, will be a beach soccer tournament which will take place in Lagos, Nigeria in December, to determine the best beach soccer nation in Africa and doubles as a qualification event for the 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, with the two finalists progressing to the finals in the Bahamas.
This will be the first time that the tournament is held in Nigeria.
