Rivers Utd thrash City Strikers 4-1 in friendly

CAF Champions League side, Rivers United thrashed amateur club, City Strikers 4-1 in a tune up game played at the FIFA Goal Project turf in Abuja, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
It was the Nigeria Premier League side's first friendly game in the nation's capital and fifth it has prosecuted since pre-season preparations began on November 1.
On Friday, November 25, Rivers United will face another Abuja-based amateur football club, Abuja Selected FC in yet another tune up game as preparations for the 2016/17 season intensify.
On Wednesday, technical manager of the club, Stanley Eguma oversaw a training session that involved 28 outfield players and five goal keepers for two hours between 4-6pm.
The session took place at the Area Three football pitch, Abuja.
The club which finished second in the league last season will lock horns against champions, Rangers International, Wikki Tourists and Federation Cup winners, FC Ifeanyi Ubah at next month's NPL Super 4 tournament in Enugu.
