NEWLY promoted Nigeria Premier League(NPL) side, Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC has resumed full preparations for the 2016/2017 season.
The team's Director of Football, Alloy Chukwuemeka, while addressing the players after their training on Thursday in Ilorin, thanked the players for their effort to get the club back to the apex League.
He assured them that their welfare will be top priority as always and told them that the Proprietor of the club, Dr. Bukola Saraki is happy with them for making him proud.
Chukwuemeka explained that the team will stay one week in Ilorin to look at new players and move to closed camping in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital after.
The ABS Director of Football, said since the club's chairman Mr. Seni Saraki, took over the team, welfare of the players has been his top priority and that the Premier League will not be an exception but bring more goodies.
Reminded the players of the team's sojourn in its first appearance at the Premier League few years back which earn it the giant killer.
"We must be ready to take the league by storm again.
"We were once nicknamed "Giant Killer" with digital brand of football , because we will always give our opponents a run for their money.
"I believe in you guys and if you want to make a name for yourself, the time is now.
"You will now rub shoulders with the big boys, so you must be ready to behave like one'' Chukwuemeka said.
It would be recalled that ABSFC thrashed Gateway United FC of Abeokuta 4-1 on the final day of the Nigeria National League (NNL) season to secure a Premier League place on Wed. Nov. 9, in Ilorin.
