EX-Military President of Nigeria, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (GCFR) has blasted the nation's Sports Ministry and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for the show of shame caused by the Super Falcons, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
Recall the Florence Omagbemi team who were crowned African Women Champions two weeks ago after beating host, Cameroon in the final are yet to get their full allowances.
This led to the seizure of the trophy by the squad, who also refused to quit their Agura Hotel lodge in Abuja.
On Wednesday a march protest led by the Super Falcons skipper, Rita Chikwelu was held at the National Assembly.
The Elder Statesman on his social media, Twitter handle @General_Ibbro said: "The nonpayment of the Super Falcons allowance is a national embarrassment. I urge the NFF & Sports Ministry to clear this mess. #PayFalcons"
Meanwhile the hash tag #PayFalcons which is trending on the social media platform could prompt the Ghana Black Queens to do same, as Ghana nor the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is yet to host them after they won bronze.
Linda Eshun started a campaign on social media demanding equal treatment for female footballers.
She took to micro-blogging website Twitter to lament the poor treatment meted out to the Super Falcons of Nigeria who are protested unpaid bonuses and allowances.
Eshun ended her Tweet with the hashtag #PayFalcons and suggested Ghana's squad who won bronze at the Championship in Cameroon will soon put pressure on the Ghana FA to be paid.
Her post read: @thenff Pay them as Black Queens coming for the @ghanafaofficial to.. #Equaltreatment #PayFalcons.
