EX-Enyimba International of Aba coach, Samson Unuanel has lauded the League Management Company (LMC) initiative behind the U-15 Youth League, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
Unuanel took to social media, Facebook and gave reasons why the plan can work: "This is a good news that will help to develop our football and it will make our football grow .
"Clubs must help the system to achieve its aims and objectives, coaches must be trained and employed not to win the league but to develop our youth system ,clubs as a matter of fact must judge the coach with the numbers of youth players that graduated to the main team.
"The environment must be conducive for the coach to do its work, like given him what it takes to bring the best identify talent to the club youth system . Serious attention must be given to coaches education, most importantly the academy coaches that has been on the job with little or no basic football education.
"The youth system must have its complete crew and empower to over look the affair of the team under the supervision of the senior Technical director.
"This is coming at a point when the country is going through a period when talented footballers are scarce to come by."
According to LMC boss, Shehu Dikko, By April 2017, when the schools would have been on holidays, the league competition will take place with each of the 4 groups of the clubs converging at a neutral venue to play a round robin league and the top two from each group goes to the quarter final, then we play the semi finals and the finals to have winners. We can all actualized this within one month. We can also structure the quarter finals, semi finals and finals to be opening matches for some of the top league matches and some might be on TV.
During the tournament LaLiga would send out scouts to Look at the boys and also assist the club coaches technically. We believe also our U17 coaches and also the clubs scouts would be looking.
At the end an Allstar Team of the U15 will be selected across all the clubs and would LIKELY in the summer be taking to Spain to play in the LaLiga PROMISAS tournament comprising the U15 teams of all the top clubs in Spain among other clubs invited globally.
