NEW Brighton & Hove Albion striker Chuba Akpom feels he can add a new dimension to the club’s forward line and cannot wait to link up with his new teammates.
The Nigeria-born youngster completed a loan move from Arsenal last night, and believes he can adapt well to the club’s 4-4-2 formation.
He said, “It’s always good to play with another striker, you can bounce off each other and there’s more support than usual. There’s always going to be competition and it keeps the team strong.
“They’re all experienced players and they know how to play in this league. It’s going to be good to learn from them, and we’ve all got something different to offer.
“The main thing for me now is impress the boss here and show my teammates and the fans what I can do. That's my main aim.”
The 21-year-old knows Brighton well after facing them during a loan spell with Hull City last season and is fully aware of the intensity of the Championship.
“It’s a good club and everyone knows the Championship is a tough league with a lot of games, as it’s very competitive and unpredictable. In this division you just have to get your head down and take each game as it comes.
“The team is flying high sitting top of the league and you can see that they’ve got the winning mentality and are playing the right football. I just want to be a positive addition to the team and help boost the side to promotion.”
