LMC calls for Ref Dankano axe, fine Abia Warriors #250k

THE League Management Company (LMC) has called on the Nigeria Referees Association to axe Ref Dankano Abdullahi from its matches, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
LMC on Monday expressed dissatisfaction with ref Dankano's performance in the matchday 3 game between Remo Stars and Abia Warriors at the Gateway Stadium in Sagamu.
Victor Mboama scored from the spot to hand the Sky Blues their first 3points of the season after losing its opening fixture to Plateau United and second to Gombe United respectively.
According to the nation's domestic football regulatory body, Dankano failed to meet up premier league high standard by making a wrong penalty call that decided the outcome of the game.
Just as Folusho Ajayi from Oyo State was asked to be withdrawn from future Premier League matches, the LMC have asked the NFF Referees Committee to withdraw Dankano Abdullahi from future games pending full investigation.
Recall the referee from Kogi State was at the centre of mediocrity when Dreams International FC beat Kwara United in a Nigeria National League Week 11 game at the Aper Aku stafium in Makurdi.
He awarded two penalties against the Afonja Warriors and issued a red card to defender Obadaki Halilu.
The first in the 42nd minute and was stopped by Ismaila Shagari.
Another penalty was later awarded to Dream International FC which, despite all the opportunities given them by the officiating officials, found it difficult to break Kwara United FC.
The controversial spot kick was converted by Dream International FC goalkeeper, Obioma Sway.
Abia Warriors have been charged for breaching the ‪Nigeria Professional Football League‬ Framework & Rules in respect of their game at Remo Stars on Sunday.
The Okey Emordi team have been charged due to a group of their players persistently accosting the ref to protest a penalty decision to Remo Stars
They have been fined N250,000 for failing to observe the rule that only team captains can approach refs to protest decisions.
LMC stated further that the Umuahia based team have 48 hours, not later than January 25, 2017, to appeal or accept the sanctions imposed on them.
