Flight cancellation stop Rohr, Ighalo, Ekong from Uyo trip

By Rasaq Oboirien
SUPER Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr could not make the trip to Uyo as stated by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) due to flight cancellations by the aviation authorities in Lagos, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
Recall the German was suppose to have a first hand information of the first set of early Super Eagles arrivals at the Uyo camp ahead this weekend's 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Tanzania.
Rohr who arrived Nigeria from his base in Europe on Monday could not fly to Uyo as flights going to the oil-rich state were said to have been canceled.
The NFF informed on the national male team official twitter handle @NGSuperEagles Monday afternoon that:"Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr and a handful of players, who have flight delays in Lagos are also expected to arrive in Uyo later today."
Recall Odion Ighalo and Rio Olympics bronze medalist, William Troost-Ekong were to be the first set of Europe based players to hit camp, but were held in Lagos too by the development.
But by the evening, another tweet to confirm that that the trip to Uyo had been cancelled and moved to Tuesday morning.
"Owing to the cancelled flight from Lagos, Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr and a host of players will now be joining camp in Uyo tomorrow(Tuesday).
Meanwhile, as at 4pm local time, Rio Olympics bronze medalist, Emmanuel Daniel, Jamiu Alimi, Brown Ideye, Victor Osimhen, Imoh Ezekiel and Musa Mohammed were in camp.
The game on Saturday is a meaningless one for both teams, after Chad opting out from the qualifiers meant, only one team would pick the ticket to Gabon.
Egypt who are leaders of the group have already claimed the spot haven drawn and beaten Nigeria in Kaduna and Alexandria respectively.
